Fabulous looking pair of Mid Century speakers, Audax CA-70 dating from 1961 and only manufactured for a couple of years by Rek-O-Kut. They used an open baffle principle employing five drivers and produced a figure 8 sound pattern. 8ohms, 45 watts. These are 5-way speakers: two approximately 6" inch; two approximately 4"; and a tweeter. One of the speakers has been replaced by a Realistic and the back fabric was removed at that time. Standard speaker wire screws on the bottom for connection.
The cases are only 4" thick (minus the feet) and have a great retro look. These were featured on an episode of Man Men and this particular set was owned by an Opera singer. The fabric is gold with sparkle gold flecks, case is black with black square decorative design on the fronts. The fabric does have some discolorations but overall these are in very good shape for their age. Incredibly rare and all speakers work!
